Eyelash Extension is famous among the celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and other elite celebrities. Eyelash Extension is now beginning to be well known at places like spa, salons and etc. How does this process work? This individual false lashes is glued to each one of your existing upper eyelashes with a cyanoacrylate-based glue, the extensions add length and fullness to the lashes, minimizing the need to apply makeup. As long as your own lashes are at least 3 mm long, you can get extensions.
For Eyelash Extension, it is advisable not to get lashes that’s much longer than the average lash length as the natural lashes will have the tendency to fall off faster. Lashes comes in width of 0.10 to 0.30 . It is not recommended to get 0.2 and beyond for the width.
For some people, they might be allergic to the glue of the lashes which can cause redness or swelling. And if not applied properly, there’s a risk your eyelids could get stuck together. Comb through your lashes with a clean mascara wand and you shouldn’t be able to feel them.
The extensions can last a month as they simply fall out when your natural lashes do. Oils from makeup will shorten the life of the glue bond on the lashes, same goes to rubbing of eyes, which might pull off your natural lashes. Thinking of wearing a mascara, use a water-based not the waterproof ones and Use water- or gel-based cleansers & a sponge-tip applicator/lint-free cloth to remove makeup around the eye area.
The Do’s & Dont’s of Eyelash Extension
1) DON’T get your extensions wet for 24 to 48 hours
Avoid working out/steam rooms/hot yoga. The adhesive will reactivate and may cause the lashes to stick together.
2) DO resist the urge to pull
Picking, tugging, twisting or excessively touching or brushing your extensions could damage your natural lashes. If at any time you don’t wish to continue, always have them professionally removed.”
3) DON’T let moisture-rich products get onto your lashes.
Shampoo/conditioner/heavy creams/anything oil based will eventually loosen the bond. Take a bath and try to avoid getting the lashes wet.
4) DO reshape your extensions after you shower.
Gently comb your lashes to fan them out or use a blow dryer set on “cool” to fan them back in place. Hold it arms length away from your face.”
5) DON’T neglect your own lashes.
Maintain the health of your natural lashes with an eyelash conditioner or growth serum. They help the hairs to stay in the follicle longer resulting in stronger support for the extensions.
